Hello!

Here's who she is & what she does

Farinoush is currently a Ph.D. candidate in transportation engineering at Texas A&M University (TAMU), and a graduate assistant researcher at the Center for Advancing Research in Transportation Emissions, Energy, and Health (CARTEEH). Her strong research background and excellent aptitude for learning combined with creativity in finding solutions are the key skills attributing to her success as a student and researcher.

Farinoush received her bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the Sharif University of Technology, which is one of the best and most well-known universities in Iran for its extensive laboratory facilities and prominent members of the faculty. She joined the TAMU community in September 2014 for her master's degree in transportation engineering, and has worked on numerous projects in Traffic Operations and Roadway Safety at Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI) before joining the Environmental and Air Quality Division.

Her current research at TTI focuses on developing a platform to estimate the environmental impacts of advanced transportation infrastructure and fleet electrification to improve planners’ decision-making process, which aligns with her career goal. Her professional goal is to utilize advanced data analytic techniques in developing data architectures for a safer and more sustainable transportation system.

Aside from technical skills, she has extensively studied and learned leadership skills and views them as a fundamental part of her career development. Farinoush has been involved in multiple leadership positions within student chapters and conferences, and acknowledged for her achievements as a leader. She has served as the Vice President of Institute of Transportation Engineers student chapter in 2016, and the President of Women’s Transportation Seminar student chapter in 2019.

Farinoush is an "advocate", focused on the future, and she strongly believes in the quote by Albert Pine, "WHAT WE DO FOR OURSELVES DIES WITH US.WHAT WE DO FOR OTHERS AND THE WORLD REMAINS AND IS IMMORTAL". Farinoush is a yogi, avid traveler, and adventurer. She enjoys listening to music and dancing, mainly contemporary. She is sponsoring universal education for girls and increasing literacy.
